Cons Demo here:
And the seller is consistantly a lousy speller as befits slumlording.

the seller mean nobis, not noblis. It's assessed at $180K, was bought several years ago for $200. It's like buying an entire slum all at once!

The dream of everyone who's taken a Carlton Sheets (or other) seminar

Actually AF, I (Cons Demo) was referring to the seller's spelling of the material of the siding.

And hee hee, guess 9:44 caught me with just a tad of spelling egg-on-face, eh.

why do you alwyas assume that all rentals are slums?

Not in a slummy area, and they probably are all up to code.

Good point. The vast majority of landlords are good people.

Did you look at the pictures? Have you ever driven down that street? It feels like rural West Virginia or something. Also, I certainly don't consider all rentals to be slums, since I'm a renter.

So, QCI, you are painting these as slums because they happen to be in an area where you don't like some other properties? Sure, I saw the pictures. Not the Taj Mahal, but it looked ok for affordable housing. And, what is wrong with rural west Virginia? My parents are from there. In the words of a John Denver speaking about rural west Virginia: "Almost heaven; West Virginia".
Listen, you are the camera guy. Why not take a few pics yourself and show us the blighted conditions, but be honest enough to admit if the properties are ok.

As a fan of HBO's "Big Love" this could be a perfect start.
