It's back on

The Centennial Bridge lights were turned on again tonight for the first time in months.

I like how in that last picture the bridge seems to come out of the reflections.

QCI, How were you able to get the last picture without all the people that use the skybridge being in the way?

Personally I don't like being inside the sky bridge at night. Its like being inside a huge slot machine, and it's hard to see out. Cant even go out on the riverside observation deck cause its locked due to too much bird doo on the deck.

If the skybridge lights go out for a few months, we'll we miss them like we did the Centennial Bridge lights?

I think I've only been in the skybridge once when there weren't other people in it, and that wasn't one of my two 3am visits.

People use it. Get over it.

I wish the resources to maintain it would be reallocated to cleaning up 14th and Gaines. Now there is an idea. Public safety first!

And why don't you people that live at 14th and Gaines clean yourself up so my city can spend it's money on nice things like the skybridge?

14th and Gaines is a craphole and the people who live around it need to get off their butts and help clean it up.

I am one of those people, I call the city constantly and they do nothing to help. The group cleans the streets, etc and tries to get the landlords to help. They refuse to, it is frustrating and crazy. I hate to say it, it isn't the homeowners there - it is the landlords and their tenants who need to as you say get off their butts and clean the place up.

We could use a little help from the landlords and the city attorneys, etc.

I am ready to move, it is a shame. My house is nice, but I just can't live near the Howard family anymore.

The city doesn't do a good job in following through on nuisance abatements and shutting the landlords down. Just when you clean up the streets, the ghetto people throw the crap right back.

We need a total overhall. Get the ghetto people out by holding the landlords responsible for who they rent to and enforce our housing codes. Raise the standards, etc. Pay real attention, instead of excuses.
