Between Thanksgiving with the family, visiting the grandparents, erecting the Christmas tree, and having folks in from out of town, I've been to busy to finish of either of the three articles I'm working on.
Sometime in the next few days, look for posts on:
-The 2nd half of the Louisville/Indy trip
-The casino reversal
-Davenport's Design Center
Until then, what else is going on around town?
I've heard that the building being torn down at 14th and Harrison is going to be replaced by a building for the use of the church next door. It also appears that it will reuse the trusses from the building that's currently being demolished. Here's a picture I snapped while waiting at the light. You can see some of the old brick and stone foundations that have been uncovered during the demo.

It is a nice ladder, but the couch needs to be reappostered in a blue and yellow tweed blend so that the colors of the couch and ladder match. Right now they are a little clashy.
11:28 ANON
Maybe Santa will bring you a dictionary for Christmas!
How unfortunate for us! His new position will definitely cut into Dumas' anon blogging time.
Tell me again - what does Dumas actually do on the city council? The guy is like a blob.
He's punching his "city council" ticket before running for some state office, I'd say.
He did have a proposal for eliminating the stormwater fee back during that whole fracas, but it unfortunately involved cutting police to do it.
Since then I haven't heard a thing out of him.
The QCTimes said Dumas was the 2nd ward alderman, but I think that is Hammerlinks area.
Did you see that the Col's blog is up again QCI?
I noticed the 2nd/8th ward mixup also.
As far as the Colonel's reborn blog, I'm keeping an eye on it and looking forward to seeing the changes. I haven't seen what advantages lay with the new version of Blogger, so at this point I'm leaving mine alone.
Alderman Meyers: People are putting out many bags of yard waste with no stickers thinking that this is still a free week. Usually the free weeks are all through November, but the City Channel states that it is over on Nov. 25th this year. If the bags are left because of no sticker attached, you can bet that these people will be looking for a place to dump them illegally, instead of buying those expensive stickers. It might be prudent to tell Dee to have the yard waste men pick them up another week so we don't have one big mess and bags all over.
Alderman Meyer and Lynn I believe:
Can either of you request the city do something about the rental building at 14th and Harrison. It is across from the building in QCI's picture. It's dumpster is always over flowing and there is often matresses and other stuff around it. It looks like junk. Thank you.
QCI: can you set a link to Davenport Snarkiness bolg on your page.
Sure, I can add that to my link bar.
