Happy Thanksgiving

I'm thankful we live in an area with the best river in the world, which gives us frequent chances to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

I will return to regular programming, probably starting with "Louisville and Indy: Part 2", tomorrow. Until then at least, lets try and keep it civil.

Happy thanksgiving.

Today is a good day to be thankful for Keith Meyer, and his sidekick Shabonni, as Keith does a great job at watching out for everyone living in Davenport. Thanks Keith.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and congratulations to QCI for being mentioned in the latest city council update.

If QCI would move into the 6th ward, he could be the next Bobbie McGivern. Howard has to know that her public service fate is sealed. Howard and Hean can bake some mean chocolate chip together.

Thanks Cruiser... I'm famous (or infamous) now among the 20 or so people that read the Council Updates.

If more people read them we would probably have had more people attend the recent trips.

I think that award goes to Bill Wundram.

WERE HOWARD AND LAHOOD MAKINGOUT IN THE BACK OF THE BUS ON YOUR TRIP?

I don't think they were getting along THAT well...

No seriously QCI, what do you think Lahood was doing going along on such a trip? He doesn't live in this town and he is known for his bad properties and landlording by those of us who live here.

Maybe he's just interested in that kind of thing?

Either that or he was interested in seeing how the property taxes of the communities were affected by their riverfront development. I remember him asking one TIF-related question, but nothing else too property tax-related.

Its not like a trip involving more bus-riding than sleeping or sight-seeing can really be considered a vacation, so I don't know what other reason there could be.

The reason LaHood went is that he is a positive force in the community and he is genuinely interested in restoring housing in the central city. If anybody looks at the things he has done, they will see he is really a gift for the central city.

Saying that LaHood is a 'gift' to SOLO is like saying that the dump your neighbor's dog did on your front yard is a 'Gift.'

Last week, LaHood transfered many of his properties into the name of Kathy A. Thompson. LaHood still has 4 burried under the name of Quad City Consolidated. Seems suspicious that he is transfering names on assets. Anyone have the inside scoop on this?

I know someone who told me that LaHood asked her once why she lived SOLO (menaing why would you live in such an area). What a nice comment from someone who owns slum rental here. He is smoozer and always ont he take. Apparently Howard is smitten. If whe wants to get erelected she better figure out a way to get rid of him or explain her connection to this solo slim.

It sounds so absurd, but nothing surprises me in Davenport anymore.
