A call to Alderman Meyer

With SoLo somewhat decommissioned until 2007, there needs to be a place for the give and take discussions about SoLo issues. I'm sad to say that many people are unwilling to enter the blog of someone with my views, so I don't know that this is such a place.

I believe Alderman Meyer should throw his hat into the blog publishing arena, and provide a forum for SoLo residents until the SoLo blog resumes.

Keith Meyer seems to have 10x the online presence of any other Alderman, although Hamerlinck and Frink at least make an effort. The 3rd ward is entirely SoLo, so a 3rd ward blog would be the ultimate place for these issues. It takes about 15 minutes to set up a simple blog, and maybe an hour for a customized one. I am not trying to take readers away from SoLo, because Ambrose Fulton has done a wonderful job running it and his views are needed and appreciated. However, 2 months is a long time, so I'd like to see at least a temporary fill-in.

Great idea that your page is avaiable for comments while Mr. Fulton is gone.
Not agreeing with someones opinion is what makes the blogs interesting.

Good luck. I don't think the posters are looking for a solution, just a place to rant. I'll also agree with anon 11:46 comment, we don't have to think alike to get along.

There have been a lot of things I've posted that I could see causing a reaction like that, but I must be missing what I said that was offensive or disrespectful in this thread... Maybe 8:39 thought I was being sarcastic or something.

Say No Alderman Meyer. You are working your ass off already helping us in the 3rd ward. If we want to blog we'll blog on QCI. I'lll go back to SOLO when it's up again.

That's fine with me, but what I'm saying is that not all of the SoLo blog crowd reads my blog.

With good reason.

YOu are an immature McGivern wannabe who have not a cleu about revitalization and you commnet as if you do. You don't get it and you need to stop acting like you do.

Meyer needs to spend more time cleaning up his house and surroundings before he should be allowed to run a blog. Just being real.

. . . . "_ALLOWED_" to run a blog?????

Geeze 8:22, I thought our Framers settled that two centuries ago.

Bill Boom is back at it. Hey BIll - stay with your slumlords and see haw far you get with your run for office in a year. People are sick of them and you are alligning with them and it is a big mistake buddy. People know what your DAI group is all about. QCRPA owned, operated, bought and sold. Self serving and unfortunate.

Once again, not Bill Bloom, I, for one, like girls and dislike Meyers lack of professionalism.

I too dislike Mr. Meyer's lack of professionalism. Furthermore, DAI is not a QCRPA tool. Many neighbors sat on the board of DAI and contributed to the success it is today. On behalf of the neighbors, I will say that only a few disgruntled wierdos do not like DAI, and they blame it on the QCRPA, even though the QCRPA had only one landlord on their team.

The problem with the DAI group is that it is only really made up of a few real neighborhood people. The rest our city employees and landlords from the QCRPA who do not live in the city od Davenport. Steen and Gruenhagen to name a few. Stop the garbage about it being a citizens group and open minded - it is not. You can tell it isn't because some of the ideas being brought forward are so crazy and distracting. More of the same inffectiveness that landlords benefit from in this city.
