Now that the pool and spa chain has a strong foothold in the Quad-Cities, the Great Escape plans to move out of its Bettendorf store and build a bigger location on Elmore Avenue in Davenport.
Apparently they aren't scared off by pushpins, stormwater fees or speed cameras. I suspect not many people are, despite what folks say on the internet.

Will they employ 500 employees or so.I hope so, maybe some mother's could stay home and raise their kids. Working families can't make it on 2/7.00/hour jobs. When child care is $100.00 plus / week. And you have to self pay your health/dental care.

Besides, I was just making a point, not implying that a pool and spa business will save Davenport.

Davenport is not a pro business town due to storm water taxes or speed cameras. That would imply that the QCA just a couple of years ago was booming and and just recently became "depressed". Davenport is down because 20 years ago it was kicked in the mouth and the only people who stayed were nonprogressive, stick in the mud, not in my back yard, "know-it-alls". A community's attitude goes along way when attracting new companies. And QCI and 50something have better attitudes.
Man, these naysayers just won't quit. Ever since blogs were invented it seems they are multiplying in Davenport. You don't see this in many other cities.
You forgot to mention the other people who cam ehere - those criminals and welfare recipients who came here at the advice of John Lewsi for a hand out.
I've got some computer science major friends... I'm thinking of asking them to write a program that automatically inserts a jab at John Lewis into EVERY FREAKIN THREAD, no matter how unrelated. It would certainly save one anonymous person a lot of time.

Why is it that if a poster doesn't agree with you on something - they are a naysayer? John Lewis is a bad program that houses and attracts problems to this fine city. If someone criticizes them it is for good cause. Get over it QCI. Go volunteer for kate Ridge if you think the programs are so great and good for your neighborhood. Perhaps the basement of you complex should be turned into the agencies' are where they hold the sex offendes instead of by women and children in the CCC area.
