Sweet picture. The only drawback to running the Bix is that I can never take any photos.

Did see the story about the building where they hang the flag on at the starting line. Awesome! It would be neat if it would have an rooftop deck or arcitectually matching small decks for the condos outside those windows. Those windows ar so tall, they could be turned into doors. I hope all these new buildings that are being renovated will include streetscaping in front of their properties.

Oh, I also ran the Bix this year and the post-race party was awesome this year. But, they ran out of water and beer very quick.

Ditto last poster. Same for us. It was our first Bix and we were really exhausted at the end. Granted we walked, but we FINISHED and that was our goal. Pretty respectable pace too. We arrived flushed and thirsty at the finish chute only to find empty tables stacked everywhere and no refreshment - beverage or food to be found. I could have used just a small amount of sugar and some cool (non alcholic PLEASE) beverage. I paid my $35 to walk, but sure didn't see any of that generous after-race party that was promised. They even gave the quick bix finishers flowers for pete's sake! That and they got first pick of the goodies! What about us that stuck it out to the bitter end? Obviously we need to bring our own cooler in the future and stow it somewhere.

RE 5:13 and the other complainers: You are all suckers. The TIMES cons you into being the unpaid entertainment in their big annual money-maker and even gets you to like it. They pat you on the back so it'll be easier for you to swallow what they are sticking up your butt. The proof is in your own words about how you real-people stragglers get treated.

Yep, chumps are what we felt like. But hey we did get a free bright yellow Genesis t-shirt so we can be a walking billboard advertising Genesis. Mine's a dust rag. Needless to say this was my first - and last - Bix as a walker. I can exercise anytime I want for free including the Bix at Six. Why pay them to be second class citizens again?

You guys should really try running the Bix sometime. The training is still basically free, but you get all the perks: crowd cheering you on, you get to the post-race party before everything is gone, and, oh, you might feel like you accomplished something.

To the last poster. I had cancer surgery in December, chemo and radiation for two months following. I worked really hard to train to WALK the Bix. And if you don't think that was an accomplishment, you are a jerk. I hope you never have to be in a position where walking is a struggle. It is humbling. But shame on you for thinking only runners are worth celebrating.

Conservative Demo here:

Running seems to be like a religion and the practitioners frequently appear to be arrogant jerks.

I was one of the first 800 people to come in to the post-race party.
So it did seem there was alot to choose from than past years since Shnucks sponsered it this year. Compared to other post-race parties I have been to, this one was pretty good. They always run out of food and beer and the end of these parites. But, this is the Bix7, one of the largest races in the nation. For the post race party to even run out of bottled water, 40 min. after the first person came in AND ON THE HOTTEST BIX EVER was ridiculous. Personally after coming in it was too hot to eat anything but an popsicle from Whitey's. They run out of them way too early every year!! I feel sorry for those who walked the Bix to come in and find no bottled water or beer. We need to compalin to some of the organizations this year that sponsered the post race party for an underestimate of products for the runners and walkers.

Here here. I hope someone from the Bix race is paying attention. They certainly lost me. I won't be back next year.
