Frink does meetings too

Alderman Frink asked me to pass this along:

OPEN/CITY MEETING WITH IAN FRINK
ROOSEVELT COMMUNITY CENTER, 1220 MINNIE AVE.
TUES. May 9th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Question/Answer Session, Followed by Idea Session
QUESTIONS - 563-508-2842

Source: http://www.ianfrink.com/events.html

Could be pretty dang interesting if it gets a similar crowd to the one that attends Hamerlinck meetings.

QCI - WHAT IS THIS BUSINESS ABOUT A PIER BEING TALKED ABOUT ON THAT SOLO CAT BLOG? YOU ARE PLUGGED IN. IS THAT DWB CORRECT?

Its in the RiverVision plan that was created through public meetings, and I believe it was in the CAT grant application that I posted a while back. I don't have the inside info on what Malin's doing about it right now, nor did I see it on the news. However, depending on the results of the CAT grant application, I could see it moving forward. People at the RiverVision meetings were pretty positive about a way to actually walk out and be surrounded by the river.

Here's the PDF about the pier on the city's site.

QCI, The link to the City's website comes up "page unavailable." At least tonight it does.

And, a suggestion. If you haven't been asked to participate or comment on the City's new web design, please contact the City IT Director, Rob Henry, with any ideas you may have. You have a flair for presentation they need.

Your sarcastic reference about Ald. Frink is completely counterproductive. Instead of writing that kind of comment why not just go to the meeting to voice your opinion? I think it is great that a community leader will step out and listen to his/her constituents. There is a wealth of information on Ald. Frink’s views on his website. If you have a specific concern you can go to this meeting and personally talk to him. Wow what an amazing idea? Thanks Ald. Frink for being so accessible to the public.

Friggin city website... if you go to this page and click the Main Street Pier link, you should get to that same pdf.

I'll throw a "friggin Adobe" in there also, because I have no idea how pdfs became any kind of standard on the internet.

I liked what Frink had to say during the campaign and actually voted for him but have been extremely disappointed by his slow start. Much like Dumas he just basically sits there and lets things happen around him. Frink when he does talk is so careful about not upsetting anyone pro or con. He sits on the fence too much. If you are not going to participate why show up? You can't keep flying under the radar and build a career. Say what you want about Hamerlinck, you at least have to respect his courage to take a stand on things right or wrong. He is right in the thick of things working on the issues. I just hope Frink becomes his own man and starts voicing his opinion and works to become the candidate that I thought I was voting for.

Frink and D1 ARE joined at the hip.

The YES man for D1.

I disagree. Frinl actually listened to the Hamburg group and voted against the demos. He has attended DNA meetings, he voted for the n'hood in the rental inspection debate and he really is a nice guy.
