QCI Around Town

I noticed that I haven't posted any Quad City Images lately, so I took a quick drive/walk and got an assortment.

After a bit of spring, the river's frozen solid again.
Nash Finch Wholesale Grocers, as seen from Pershing
Construction crews are already going to town on the new PD
What's happening with the Linden? Nothing at the moment.
With the help of the new council, we'll probably be seeing this sign far into the forseeable future.

Did the 1st ward alderman make his announcement today, like he said he would?

Hop out to Horizon Homes and takes some pictures. Word on the street is its a shithole. 180 degree profile from what the QCTiimes printed this AM. Check out the police call stats while your're at it.

Another bad landlord getting a pass from the rental housing inspection department, while the good landlords continue to suffer.

For a second there I thought you meant the Linden, and I was about to suggest that even the most cursory drive-by inspection would see some problems with that property.

I agree QCI - do us a favor an investigate the craphole called Horizon HOmes and determine if is the economic development tool all those rich folks on its board claim it to be.

I bet they wouldn't be caught dead there during the day, but by golly it is a great place for the 'working poor' to live. I hate break it to Mark Ridolfi, but there ain't no one employed that lives in the Horizon Homes and low income housing isn't an economic development tool. I am tired of the Times treating us all like idiots.
