Talk about it here so we can get it out of our system.

Nothing much to talk about. He will be charged, just like any other citizen will be. Probably, he will have his licesnse suspended for awhile and have to only drive to and from employment (which includes City Council, by the way). He may have to spend four days at home. End of story, as it should be. Anybody else that wants to see him hang (because they don't like his political views) can kiss his @ss! Ain't gonna happen. He gets to serve out his term in the first ward (and that is how it should be).
I agree also! Take responsibility. Educate the public on how it is dangerous to drink and drive, don't make the mistake again! McGivern did get his butt rung through the ringer.
Alderman Van Fossen is going to make a public announcement on this matter on Monday.
Rumors going around the West end bars are that Alderman Van Fossen will resign his position on the council. He will also recommend that Roxanne Moritz fill out his term.
Actually, Van Fossen is a great guy. Maybe he has a drinking problem, but he is clearly working on it, and he is one of the six that will clean up this city. And, he dosen't take BS from staff the way Moritz did, and he won't exercise personal vendettas the way Moritz did. We should all be damn glad we have him.
Blueport junction is such a crock in terms of real issues. Frankly, it is not even on the radar screen. There is no real problem there. Hell, the neighbors in the area would have a hard time hearing anything anyway, they live right next to a friggin' freeway overpass! How come nobody ever brings that up when it comes up downtown? They chose to build their damn homes next to a freeway, and they have the nerve to complain about a little music every now and then. What are they worried about? Are they concerned that the beautiful noises from the semi- trucks going by will be lessened by a little music on Friday nights? Give me a break!
If the neighbors can make life miserable for Mr. Tappendorf, I just love it! Couldn't happen to a better guy. What goes around comes around, and he's dished it out for years. Yes Bob your stuff does stink!
Ok, so now the truth comes out. A few people personally dislike Mr. Tappendorf, so therefore they want to make his business fail, and use the power of the local city government to do it. At least we are being honest about it all now. It really has nothing to do with the noise. Hell, the noise is nowhere near as obnoxious as the sound from the freeway. In reality, here is what it is all about: Tappendorf beat Roxanna Moritz in for 2nd ward city council years ago, and Roxanna never forgets. These idiots that come down to city hall are nothing more than Roxanna's little army. How pathetic. Thank God Mr. Tappendorf has won this thing!
Oh yeah, is that so? What would their concern be, that they won't be able to hear the freeway noise because of a little music on Saturday night? Give me a break. Their only concern is that Roxanna does not like Bob Tappendorf.
Actually, I think Tappendorf is a decent guy, but even if I did not, it would not matter. Fair is fair. These people have no real gripe, and zoning should be about what is fair, not personal vendettas. The bottom line is that if you live right next door to a freeway overpass, your complaint about a little outdoor music on Saturday night is not valid.
Did Blueport Junction go out of business? I saw their domain name for sale due to "financial difficulties"..? Maybe Van Fossen gave them a bad name.. or vice versa.
Tappendorf is a crackhead(or used to be),wife beater, alcoholic, and a real d!ckhead. If he would have worked with the neighbors they may have gotten over it being in a bar.(even though he called it a family restaurant)just watch the city council meetings he woulnt even show up to them. Him and all of the other owners are just alcoholics looking for a place to play in their band and sell drugs and party. It is all houses and cornfield around there and one 1 acre lot for commercial property. those houses have been there for many years and it used to be just a 2 lane road. I live just off of highway 22 and we dont want sh!t being built out here. If we wanted buisnesses or places to eat right next door we would have moved into the city. Why do you think people are moving out of the city now! Because you dont want to live next to a bar.Duh?

I agree with the above post. Although it sure did seem like McGivern got a much greater flogging.
Guess Van Fossen hasn't had the oppurtunity to piss anyone off yet!

If that were true, I'd be very impressed. Honestly, both of the OWI Aldermen handles this about as well as could be expected.
I think rumors as to Ald. Van Fossen's early demise are much exaggerated.
I am certain the people who live around Blue Port are just praying for Moritz back so they can be listened to again.
Ron has never met a bar owner he didn't like!
The West Enders really voted in a winner this time.
I wonder if the Dunn's are going to stand behind Alderman Van Fossen like they did Moritz?

Can YOU slur "Blueport Junction"?

Maybe it's more about Bob Tapendork being a piqûre.
I've met Bob and he seems like a real abruti.

If you believe the crap on these blogs then you are dumber than you probably look.
I think the neighbors have a real concern.

Is it true that Blueport's drunk alderman is supporting them?
Alderman Van Fossen should resign. This city deserves better.
smoke another dubie, dude! VanFossen is here to stay!
Thanks Ron, smoke one for all of us.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went out of business. I never heard a good thing about that place.
