I can't think of much to say today. (
and there was much rejoicing...yay) but Thursday I'm having lunch with Alderman Frink, and there are several ward meetings coming up, including Mr. Frink's, and possibly Alderman Lynn. I also emailed Craig Malin with a few questions about various issues, so there could be some posts about those forthcoming. What's on people's minds?

See Van Fossen got busted for the OWI. I believe its a personal issue, but I am sure the bloggers will beat him down like McGivern..
real pitty
QCI, while I might enjoy making jokes over your delight in the urbane lifestyle, I must in all honesty give you credit for your stand over on SOLO pertaining to people incorrectly labeling their facts. A wage is a wage and a benny is a benny and if one wishes to decry a particular wage, don't cloud the point by quoting the entire package.
Honest argument must needs be kept honest.
I agree with the above post, and welcome you to our side of the issue. Thank you for coming around, QCI. Hopefully this town can get cleaned up soon, and a lot of employees need to find the door.
Its not so much coming around, really. I always kind of wondered why we needed a highly paid person to manage a few meter maids and 3 parking garages. Maybe there's more to the science of parking that meets the eye.
Just because I don't oppose all spending doesn't mean I don't oppose some. I just have a different set of priorities, I suppose.
For example, many of Alderman Meyer's ideas for cuts I find horrifying. I also find it strange that while he didn't want the Public Works inquiry to be a witch-hunt, he named names of specific people in his list, instead of job titles.
Pat McGrath is retireing at Public Works and a reorganization of the responsibilities of the position is planned.
