Where in the QC is this? #17

The 17th installment of this little feature is a tie in with all the local mainstream media coverage of our area bridges and their conditions. I never heard mention of this little wood structure, so I guess its in fine shape.

This is an easy "Where" image, so I expect it will be guessed within minutes or hours. I'm working on a couple of posts though, so that's fine.

North of the village

It's the oldest active wooden railroad trestle in Iowa. Wouldn't it be east of the village?

The railroad has cleaned up around the train tressel down by Indian Springs in Davenport. Long over due. Now this wonderful structure can be admired.

East 13th street bridge over the RR tracks off of Mound street.

It's the site of the next crappy Habitat house south of locust. Oh, no, that won't happen, this neighborhood isn't poor enough and the people who live there have political connections - i.e. --- this is across the street from Winborn.

The first two vague answers made me laugh. I'll join in and say "north of the river."

11:22 hit it right on. Its not a railroad bridge, its a street bridge over the railroad tracks. The RR trestle goes up and over 11th and 12th, but then because of the river valley sloping up, it goes underneath 13th, yet still (barely) manages to go over Kirkwood.

At this time, private contractors are replacing the sidewalk portion, which is just west of Winborn's front door, with plywood and concrete.

Did you notice all the new concrete streets being poured by Winborn's residence and rental? Obviously we know what he's been doing with his lame duck period.

I don't really like Winborn, but that statement is not true.

There was a lot of damage to the base under the street due to poor run off and mere old age. Remember the last two summers the water main broke just before the Bix.

This is a permanent fix to the problem. It just so happens to be in front of Winborn's place.

Also, dozens of sidewalks are currently being replaced all over town. I suppose all those people did political favors to get them?
