Isn't there a difference betwen a "feel good" story and an actual piece of good news? I'd the Michelle Wie thing was more of a "feel good". It really only impacts one person, and makes us in the QCA feel important that a celebrity would recognize us in that fashion. I'd say the 2nd story is much better "good news" since it can impact a lot more people.
It doesn't mean they will get commented on much on blogs, though. Hopefully the low number of commenters doesn't correlate to a low number of readers.
Alderman Meyer: If public works is going to take over inspections, possibly Mike Loose could be rehired to take over the managers job again. Also, in early spring each year, the old NEO office would do a SOL sweep using all of the people in the department to look at every property. With only two inspectors under Dee's thumb, how will that be accomplished. Lastly, the racoons haven't learned how to lift the trash can lids yet, but the crows have learned how to perch on the side of overfilled containers that the lid is partially open, and tear open the sacks and make a mess. We must demand that public works exchange carts that are too small for a family with the jumbo carts so the lid can be closed completly.
Keith: a few weeks ago, you requested a report from the traffic director concerning the new road construction/turn lanes on 53rd and Welcome Way. Has that report come back to you yet, and if so, what were the conclusions? Thank you.

Maybe all those negative commentators dissing Ms. Wie last July are too busy bell-ringing for the Salvation Army, ha, ha!
The DPD got National Accredidation again.
Yippee...
I hear the special men with the white coats are looking for Hammerlink. Word is that he has lost his mind trying to privatize a few city deparmments.

The report was that the intersection is working exactly as it was intended to. Hard to believe.
Keith
That intersection was designed by a staff person after drinking about a gallon of holiday rum egg-nog. Cheers!
