Christkindlmarkt Images

From Wikipedia:
In many towns in Germany and in Austria, Advent is usually ushered in with the opening of the town's Christmas market or Weihnachtsmarkt, in the southern parts of Germany and in Austria often also called Christkindlmarkt or Christkindelsmarkt (Ger. literally, Christ child market). Generally held in the town square and pedestrian zones, the market combines food and drink in the open air, shopping and pageantry as well as tradition.
So now everyone knows what that is, if you didn't already. Here are the images.

There were groups selling gifts from at least a dozen different countries.

I was there towards the end, but it was still pretty crowded.
How many Christkindlmarkts have a view like this?

Was there very much room to move around the vendor booths. When I heard they were selling 8 foot by 8 foot spaces, I didn't think the skybridge was that wide. It must have been hard to get around if there was any kind of crowd at all up there.

Nobody really had more than 1 table on one side of the bridge. I'd call them 3 by 8 foot spots.

I took my kids down to see the Christmas windows at Petersens and discovered they were not having them this year. At least parking is still free on weekends.

Has the RME resurrected that in the past?

Hopefully this "Lights of the Season" can become a bigger deal for downtown Davenport in future years.
