St. Paddy's Day Open Thread

I may not have any Irish in me, but I still wish all you loyal readers a happy St. Patrick's Day.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures up from the parade this afternoon, and then I'll return to regularly scheduled blogging.

Until then, what's on your minds?

QCI - Make sure you take a picture of the alderman at Harrison and 3rd Street. Some of them are judges. See if your picture can show there beverages of choice.

What's wrong with having a drink on St. Patrick's Day?

Now, if they had 30 empties sitting next to them that would be another story....

Does anyone know if it's true one of the "new" things going on in the Village of East Davenport is to get rid of the softball fields? I think that would be a shame....

Great place for the family to play but do you see what the adults leave behind after the games? Loads of trash, beer cans, glass bottles, and dirty diapers. It is a total mess and no reason for it.

I think that would be yet another stupid decision by the East Village folks.

That field has been there a long time.

Actually, I heard it was a on the advice of some "consultant" brought in by the city that brought up getting rid of the softball fields. As far as trash being left behind...That happens at every softball field. Should we get rid of all of them, then? Dumb reasoning for getting rid of the one at Lindsay Park.

I just checked the City website and it says women's softball leaugues at Lindsay Park started registration on March 13th.
