Listen to Canadians talk about the QC Flames

Check out Fan960.com, Calgary's sports radio.
At the top, click on Listen Live to stream the audio online.

Right now (6:30PM) Mallards/Flames President Tim Taylor is being interviewed, and there's a lot of talk about the Calgary Flames' farm team.

Update: It was pretty interesting to hear questions and discussion about the Quad Cities, the Mallards, and the Mark from another country, sort of. They talked about Mallards fans, the $600,000 project to expand the skating surface, the name change, and the excitement of the fans, including the presence of a lot of fans at the press conference.

Here's a thread on a Calgary hockey forum with a lot of folks talking about us as well, and they seem impressed with the Mark.

Also, here's a post by Pioneer98 (bigger hockey fan than I) wondering if this means the end of the UHL on Information Swimming.

All hail the almighty Keith Meyer. He must have had something to do with this, because Keith is good and anyone who disagrees with him is bad...NOT. Keith, clean up your appearance and your yard and stop making Davenport look like a bunch of hillbillies!

I wish knot heads like the 8:43 poster had to leave their name on this board! This thread is about a pretty big and really exciting happening for the QC and Mr. Trailer Park trash there rants on about alderman Meyers appearance???

I thought Keith lived in a trailer.

"I wish knot heads like the 8:43 poster had to leave their name on this board!" HUH? It sounds like you may be the trailer trash.

You know, it doesn't matter what you are arguing for or against, when you take a thread that is on a completely different topic and hijack it to rant on your obsession you just make yourself sound like a wack-job. Same is true for the person(people?) who accuse everyone of being "Dan" or "Walter".

I'll be excited to check out the new team when they get here. I kind of had an idea something along these lines would happen when the Mallards got new owners. The UHL seems to be dying so to invest so heavily in something would suggest making changes. Good for them for thinking big. We need more big thinkers - and do'ers.

Its definitely impressive to "steal" a team away from a metro area of 820,000 people.

Yeah, I'm very impressed with the owners. I think its a great sign of confidence in our community.

Just remember what they have done to the host cities of their farm teams in the past. Calgary only stays in town for about two years and if they tell you they are committed to staying in town that is pretty much the kiss death. Enjoy the team while they ar in town because they won't around long.
