Market at the Freight House

Holy cow, its cold out there! But, in other news...

So, to recap: The first Saturday of February, March, and April the Davenport Levee Improvement Commission will host local vendors at the west end of the Freight House from 10AM to 3PM. Sounds like a great event.

That's great news - the previous winter market was actually really well attended, and it was snowing like crazy that day!

I hope this is the first step towards a new lease being made and unity being created for the vendors down there. This market obviously has some great potential, and can only get better with the Freight House property becoming more involved over time.

JUST WANTED TO LET U KNOW HOW IMPRESSED WITH THE IDEA OF HAVING A FM OPEN YEAR ROUND. AND WHAT A GREAT LOCATION THAT WILL BE. IT ALWAYS SADDENED ME WHEN FALL CAME AROUND IN THE QUADS CUZ I KNEW IT WAS A MATTER OF TIME THAT FM WOULD BE CLOSING FOR THE WINTER.

WHEN I LIVED IN SOUTH BEND INDIANA WHICH WAS AFTER 1986, THEY HAD A FARMER'S MARKET WHICH WAS INSIDE ALSO, THEY HAD A VARITY OF DIFFERENT VENDORS, SELLING EVERYTHING FROM FRUIT TO FURNITURE AND THE BEAUTY WAS THEY OFFERED A SMALL RESTAURANT WITH AFFORDABLE PRICES, SO U COULD GET DONE SHOPPING AND SIT DOWN FOR BREAKFAST OR LUNCH.

SO I CAN LET U KNOW KUDOS FOR FM FINALLY COMING TO DOWNTOWN DAVENPORT
