I know I've been lax on posts lately, but as the holidays wind down I hope to get back in the blogging spirit. For today though, just an open discussion thread.
Tonight, don't forget the swearing in of the new council, and open house at City Hall. Go meet these new folks before you begin bashing them online. The meeting starts at 7pm.
I will probably try to make it to the meeting/open house, but it might not happen.
And finally, only 357 days until Christmas!

I am very hopeful that the new council can move Davenport politics off the front pages of our media, and get some possitive things done. I like the Make-up of the new council, and let's hope that Mr. Gluba can move them in a new direction.
Can you believe that Gluba let Cheri Rigdon go as the Mayor's assistant and appointed Ann Corbi? What a boner move.
Friends, family and the public were invited to attend tonight’s council meeting. The chambers were packed to welcome the new mayor and council.
The ceremony was a nice touch, especially involving the students. The honor guard from the police department and the fire department was appreciated.
The mayor and the council were sworn in. The mayors comments were thoughtful. The conduct of the meeting was efficient and expedient.
The alderman were not given an opportunity to comment. Adjourned.
Pretty much a Gluba evening.
Didn't Ann Corbi sue the City after working in the CE & D department in the 80s? Just what we need another litigious "employee". Nice start Bill.
Rigdon to Corbi
Partisan politics at work here...too bad.
I also am sorry about the appointment of Ann Corbi. Sherri did an excellent job. Lets hope that Ann has changed and won't cause to much political desention.
Time to forget and forgive. People change over the years, let's give Ann the benefit of the doubt.
The mayor has the right to appoint whomever he (she) wants. When has a mayor kept the same secretary as the previous mayor?
Well - it just happened. Winbag kept Charlie's secretary. Geez.
The biggest problem with Ann is that she is such an angry, disagreeable person. I'm can't imagine her fielding calls for the Mayor. What are the job skills that make her qualified for the job? She seems more a political appointee to me.
