Stop asking about VanFossen
I want to know how his blood alcohol test turned out also, but I'm pretty sure it'll be in the paper when it comes out. Stop asking about it in every single thread.

I would think you would want all the posts you can get, since you don't draw that many.
What takes so long to get the test results? Metro lab could have test results in one day. Is there more going on than we know about. It just dosen't look very good to the public.
I agree, and most of you remember I'm not a VanFossen fan, but I just don't see the point of a comment everywhere about it. I'm not in this for quantity of comments, I prefer quality. If people want to talk about it, keep it in the appropriate threads, such as this one.
Why shouldn't we ask. I respect the fact it's your Blog, but the guy is an elected official. Ok, the deal happened befoe he took office. But if this is being white washed because he is in public office, that is just wrong!
And you know, these blogs are a good way to ask questions and challenge stuff that might not always be considered.
And do you think that maybe the local media checks these sites out looking for bits and pieces from time to time?
So excuse some of us for asking. You can always ask us to leave. But the lack of information makes me believe this was swept under the rug.
If that doesn't bother you, then thats that. It bothers me...
Its morally no different whether someone endangered lives while they were an Alderman or before. Questions should be asked, and if this is somehow covered up, there should be an investigation into that.
I just don't think it needs to be talked about everywhere at once. I don't think anyone's forgotten it, and when someone hears any info it will be posted. I'm on you guys' side on this one.
What kind of bothers me is that Van Fossen supposedly retired from the police department because of a heart condition.
Doesn't speak too well of his judgment or common sense IF he his out getting sloshed while a heart patient, hopefully the truth will come out eventually.
I think McGivern stalled, but he sure in the hell didn't hide. At the end of the day, it might speak to the character of each. One of these guys stood up and took his punishment, the other tried to sweep it away. Only time will tell!
Because of the accident, Van Fossen was taken to the hospital where he agreed to give blood to measure his alchol level. His blood test exceeded .160 but the DPD is hiding behind another law enforcement agency at this time.
Only the County District Attorney can push this. This guy is up for re-election and its time for a new DA...
While I will stay anonymous, I am a Davenport Cop (republican as well) and outraged at this cover up.
* Mike Bladel could blow the whistle as well, but don't hold your breath...

Touche...
But seriously, was I the only one annoyed by having "what happened to VanFossen's OWI?" in every single discussion?
I wanted to say something too. It was getting extremely annoying. IMHO please feel free to delete those off topic posts.

It definitely bothers me.

It does seem like McGivern's "score" on the test came back a lot faster.

Was VanFossen even given a breathalizer test? Maybe you are asking about a test that was never administered.

Good thing you didn't post that by fax then.
