2 Links Open Thread

A couple quick things this morning:

As the blurb in the QCTimes mentioned, the Quad Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau has redone their website again. It looks really good and has a ton of great info, but my favorite part is the "Ask a question" section where you can type in a question about the QC and they do their best to answer it. There's also an archive of some of the questions asked, and their answers. Its always interesting to see what outsiders want to know about the Quad Cities.

The other thing is the new Facebook page for the Hilltop Campus Village. There's alsoa website, but its in its very early stages and still being worked on. So if you're on Facebook, and support the Hilltop area of Davenport, please become a fan.

Other than that, open thread.

Also, did you see that the Putnam may get some stuff loaned from the Smithsonian? Pretty cool, but I'm sure there will be some that hate it since it won't be something they like.

Those who want more variety at the Putnam need to get organized now, have neighborhood meetings, and draft people to run for council that bring in interesting exhibits like the first Caveman Speedo, and not to forget the ever popular Fingerpainting of the Mondoobie Tribe.

Worldly people like Nitrous and the friends he hangs with might enjoy a day of looking at things like that, but for the average Davenport Citizen, we prefer to set on the couch with a cold one and a bag of cheezy-poofs watching sports and the car auction.

We already do. That is why you keep bitching about the city not doing what you want.

Also, when you are going to kiss Cruiser's butt and blather a bunch of wealth envy stuff, pick something other than Barrett Jackson. If you actually watch the auction you would see it is a bunch of rich guys buying cars. Try shows like Chop, Cut & Rebuild or Gears.
