A Few Friday Questions

Is it possible for the River City Reader to write an editorial without mentioning the casino hotels?

What's happening with that OTHER riverfront highrise, the Oneida landing condos?

Did Tom Saul's change of assignment have anything to do with the Malin fiasco?

Why doesn't Alderman Meyer have a blog? He's helped countless people on SoLo and this blog, why not have his own too?

Sadly I'm probably going to miss the Riverfront Pops Concert this year, the year I'd most like to go. (I'm a Beatles fan) Anyone know if PBS or anyone is taping it this year?

Speaking the Pops, am I the only one that thinks Davenport's "Official Song" is the corniest thing ever?

Davenport's Official Song? Yes I heard it about a year ago. Cheesy? My cholesterol levels still haven't come back to normal.

Conservative Demo here:

Blog Janitor, please check SOLO for my response to your rhetorical question about a R&D Party system.

I'm actually surprised Tom Saul lasted as long as he did at city hall. He's a straight shooter who doesn't always print what the council wants. He came up to me after I spoke at one the meetings and asked for facts and figures before he ran the story. I respect someone like that.

Who's to say that Saul did not ask for the change. While plenty of grist comes out of our local government, one kind of tires of the same lunch everyday. Added bonus he is probably now leaving the office at 5 o'clock most days.

I will miss Tom's gritty scum finding ways. I mean that. I often wondered about him and his drive to find what is wrong with Davenport. I like him a lot and will miss him calling.

I won't miss his subtle (or not so subtle) habit of mixing his opinion with his news reporting. His choices of wordings or which things he chose to report can sometimes change the public perception of things.
